As the number of active Covid cases in Gurgaon increased to 10 on Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav has instructed hospitals to establish isolation wards, create a dedicated section within each ICU, and designate a separate OPD for patients and individuals exhibiting symptoms

"All hospitals within the Gurgaon district are instructed to promptly set up dedicated isolation wards specifically for individuals displaying symptoms of Covid. These wards must be well-equipped with essential medical infrastructure, including isolation beds and oxygen facilities, to ensure the delivery of optimal care," stated the directive.

Furthermore, it emphasized the establishment of a specialized section within the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) of each hospital to cater to the critical-care requirements of patients with severe manifestations of Covid. This specialized ICU ward should be equipped with sufficient ventilators, monitoring equipment, and skilled medical personnel. Additionally, a separate zone within the Outpatient Department (OPD) of every hospital should be assigned exclusively for individuals displaying symptoms suggestive of Covid-19. This arrangement aims to enable swift screening, testing, and initial consultations for suspected cases, thereby reducing the risk of transmission to other patient

He mandated that hospitals must not refuse admission or medical treatment to any individual exhibiting symptoms of the sub-variant. The order emphasized that hospital authorities have a responsibility to ensure prompt admission and the delivery of essential medical care, adhering to the guidelines issued by health authorities.
