Ram Mandir
In preparation for the consecration of the Ram Temple, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embraced a disciplined regimen, according to sources familiar with the matter. Reports indicate that the 73-year-old leader has been adhering to a strict routine, including sleeping on the floor and consuming only coconut water. A spokesperson for the prime minister confirmed that this choice aligns with the satvik diet, a necessity for the upcoming ceremony.
Last week, PM Modi announced his commitment to follow Yama Niyam, a set of observances required for 11 days preceding holy occasions, and mentioned undertaking various rituals as part of an anushthan.
In addition to adhering to dietary restrictions and early rising, Modi spent the week visiting temples in western and southern India, including Panchavati in Nashik, Guruvayur temple in Kerala, and Veerabhadra temple in Andhra Pradesh. His upcoming schedule includes visits to temples in Tamil Nadu, such as the Ranganathaswamy Temple in Tiruchirappalli, where he will listen to scholars reciting verses from the Kamba Ramayan.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called on its members to organize various programs coinciding with the January 22 ceremony, urging cleanliness campaigns and celebrations akin to Diwali.
