Denied Entry to Temple, Rahul Gandhi Asks, "What Wrong Have I Done?"
The temple holds historical and cultural significance, and the denial of entry raises questions about the reasons for the restrictions. Gandhi questions the authority's decision, emphasizing his desire to visit the temple.

In a recent development, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma urged Rahul Gandhi to reconsider the route of his 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,' citing concerns about potential clashes with the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Sarma emphasized the need to avoid unnecessary competition between the two significant events - the consecration of the Ram temple and the visit to the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardeva at Batadrava.

Rahul Gandhi responded by stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would now decide who gets to visit the temple, asserting that only one person could enter. In protest against the alleged restrictions on his visit, Gandhi, along with Congress leaders, initiated a sit-in protest in Nagaon. This dispute between political leaders has sparked a broader controversy, with the Congress announcing nationwide protests, alleging "planned attacks" on their convoys during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Assam.

Party general secretary KC Venugopal accused Chief Minister Sarma of orchestrating attacks on their convoys, properties, and leaders, branding him as "the most corrupt chief minister in India." Venugopal called for large-scale protests across the country, denouncing what he claimed to be an "assault on democracy" by the BJP-led government in Assam.

During a roadshow, Rahul Gandhi encountered a hostile crowd at a roadside eatery in Nagaon, where slogans were raised against him and placards displayed messages like 'Anyay Yatra' and 'Rakibul go back,' referring to Samaguri Congress MLA Rakibul Hussain. The incident reflects the escalating tensions between political factions in Assam, drawing attention to the complex interplay of religious, political, and regional dynamics in the region.
