The Ultimate Guide to Creating Viral YouTube Shorts
The Ultimate Guide to Creating Viral YouTube Shorts
YouTube Shorts was introduced by YouTube in September 2020 as a response to the growing popularity of short-form video content on platforms like TikTok. This feature allows users to create and watch short videos of up to 60 seconds in a vertical format, tailored for quick and engaging content consumption.

Monitization

  • YouTube has introduced monetization options for Shorts creators. Creators are eligible to participate in the YouTube Partner Program and earn revenue through advertisements that are displayed on their Shorts videos. This allows creators to potentially monetize their short-form content and generate income.
  • YouTube Partner Program (YPP): Once your channel meets the eligibility criteria set by YouTube (generally 4,000 watch hours in the past 12 months and 1,000 subscribers), you can apply for the YouTube Partner Program. Upon acceptance, you can enable monetization on your videos, allowing ads to run before, during, or alongside your content. You earn a share of the advertising revenue generated from these ads.
  • Channel Memberships: If eligible, you can offer channel memberships to your audience. Subscribers can pay a monthly fee (set by the creator) to get access to perks like exclusive content, badges, or emojis. This feature is available to channels with more than 30,000 subscribers.
