However Amazon, Microsoft, and Google—previously Nvidia's key clients—are swiftly transforming into its rivals. Acknowledging the substantial value associated with the silicon layer in today's AI landscape, as evidenced by Nvidia's stock price, these prominent cloud providers are making substantial investments in creating their proprietary AI chips, directly challenging Nvidia's GPUs.
As cloud providers aim to venture deeper into the technology stack to seize additional value at the silicon layer, it wouldn't be unexpected for Nvidia to take a contrary approach. This could involve the company providing its own cloud services and managing its own data centers, thereby lessening its conventional dependence on cloud companies for distribution.
