The Effects of Iran-Pakistan Tensions on India and the Prospects for Preventing a Broader Conflict
Currently, there are two conflict zones in West Asia posing threats to regional peace, with the potential to escalate into a larger conflict if not effectively managed. The first area is Gaza, where the October 7 attacks by Hamas triggered a war between Israel and Hamas. The second hotspot is the Pakistan-Iran border, where mutual accusations prevail regarding the failure to control the rise of separatist militants on each other's territory.

Iran recently targeted Pakistan, holding it responsible for not containing the Sunni terrorist group Jaish-al Adl, which Iran alleges is conducting anti-Iranian activities from Pakistani soil. In response, Pakistan initiated an intelligence-based operation named 'Marg Bar Sarmachar.' The operation reportedly led to the elimination of several terrorists when the Pakistan Air Force struck Baloch separatist camps inside Iran.

Iran faces significant pressure as both the United States and Israel express readiness to confront the nation in West Asia. The focus is on Iran's involvement in the Hamas attacks and its active support for the Palestinian group. The United States is displeased with Iran's backing of Yemen's Houthis and Lebanon's Hezbollah. Israel has issued warnings, indicating that if external support for Hezbollah persists, it will not hesitate to extend the conflict to Lebanon.
